Menâr uses only the data needed to provide core features such as prayer times and the qibla direction. It has no user accounts, advertising or behavioural analytics system.
Location permission is optional. If you grant it, your latitude and longitude are sent to AlAdhan to calculate prayer times and used on your device to calculate the qibla direction. Only when you start a “Nearby Places” search, your approximate location and selected search radius are sent to OpenStreetMap-based Overpass API services to find nearby mosques, prayer rooms and businesses tagged as halal. Your precise location is not sold or linked to a user profile.
Prayer times may be retrieved from the AlAdhan API; Quran text, translations, optional Latin transliteration and available audio recordings may be retrieved from Al Quran Cloud and QuranEnc. When connecting to these services, the providers may process your IP address and standard connection information.
Recitation practice requests microphone permission only when you start it. Audio may be processed by the speech recognition service on your device or operating system to transcribe Arabic speech. Menâr does not store your audio recordings on its own server or link them to a user account. You can revoke permission in your operating system settings.
Your theme, favourites, tasbih count, prayer tracking, last location, cached prayer times and most recent nearby places search are kept only in local storage on your device. Nearby place results may be stored for 45 minutes to reduce unnecessary network use. The operating system may delete this data when you uninstall the app.
If you grant permission, prayer time notifications are scheduled locally on your device. You can turn notifications off in the app’s Settings or revoke permission in your operating system settings.
Menâr contains no advertising network, user tracking, behavioural profiling or in-app purchases. Data is not used or sold for advertising.
Menâr has no user accounts or its own user database. You can delete preferences stored on your device using the “Clear my device data” option in Settings, and revoke location, microphone, speech recognition and notification permissions in your operating system settings. External services may process their own records according to their own policies.
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. It has no account registration or personal-data submission fields.
